Monica and Mitch wanted a cozy elopement in Big Sur, California, just the two of them! They were looking for the perfect wedding photographer that’s familiar with elopements. A friend of theirs referred them to me and they hired me for their adventure! The two met while working on wildfires and so it was only fitting for them to say “I do” in the woods. Under a beautiful moody green canopy of giant redwoods, Mitch and Monica said their vows to each other. I was humbled by their genuine love for each other and excitement for what’s to come.

The couple stayed at the beautiful Glen Oaks cabins and cottages in the heart of Big Sur, along the Big Sur River. The hotel helped provide them with an ordained minister to deliver and confirm their vows. They wanted to get married within the giant ring of redwoods and then hike through the woods for portraits. They couldn’t sign me up any faster! Big Sur is a bucket list location for most of the world and for good reason.

When we booked the elopement, we discussed what the couple wanted and locations they wanted to fit in. They preferred the moody green canopy of the woods and waterfalls. It was absolutely their vibe! The coast and bluffs are also a beautiful option for capturing your just married portraits. The trails down to the bluff and beach are in various spots along the coast if you have a photographer that can help you find them…eh hem…that would be me. Interested in eloping in Big Sur?
